MESSAGE BOARD

IMPORTANT ITEMS TO REMEMBER
WHEN SUBMITTING PERMIT APPLICATION:
A Site Plan is required showing setbacks, fire separation, overhead and underground utilities, septic tanks
Owner/Builder Affidavit (if applicable) must be signed in person at building department
Contractors must be registered with the County and have current liability and workers compensation insurance
Three sets of construction drawings are required for non-residential work and two sets for residential

PRIOR TO FIRST INSPECTION:
Notice of Commencement (NOC) for jobs in excess of $2,500.00
Preliminary Pest Certificate
Road & Bridge Approval for Right-of-Way Permit
Preliminary Soil Compaction (FAX copy)
Form Board Survey (if applicable)

PRIOR TO FINAL INSPECTION:
Final Pest Certificate
Final Septic Approval
Approved Road & Bridge Inspection
Original Soil Compaction
Finish Floor Elevation or Elevation Certificate

PRIOR TO ISSUANCE OF CERTIFICATE OF OCCUPANCY:
Solid Waste and Fire Assessment fees must be paid
Fire Fighter Safety Building Marking System emblem must be installed

CONTRACTOR LICENSES
YOUR CONTRACTORS’ LICENSE NUMBER IS REQUIRED

This is a reminder to all contractors that, in accordance with Florida Statutes (FS) 489.119, the contractors’ license number shall appear in any offer of services.
This includes, but is not limited to; business proposals, bids, contracts, or advertisement; even business cards.
In addition, per FS 489.119 (6)(c), “If a vehicle bears the name of a contractor or business organization, or any text or artwork which would lead a reasonable person to believe that the vehicle is used for contracting” the license number “must be conspicuously and legibly displayed with the name, text, or artwork.
”Failure to include the license number in advertisement carries a minimum fine of $250 and a maximum fine of $1,000 for the first offense.

EQUIPMENT FOR INSPECTION ACCESS
In accordance with the Florida Building Code, Section 109.1, it is the responsibility of the contractor to provide equipment required for inspector access to perform required inspections. This equipment includes, but is not limited to; an OSHA approved ladder, scaffolding, etc.
